Our Projects

Espousing the UDF-principle

Unique | Distinguished | Fresh

In the execution of a project, and post project solution maintenance, we advocate and uphold this principle.

Unique

We know that every client is unique, and therefore also its values, culture, governance outline, operating model and approach to compliance.  Our project methodology supports this uniqueness, and we understand the need for distinctive and bespoke solutions.

Distinguished

In a competitive economic and commercial market, we are convinced that the value-attributes (internal and external) of a well-resourced, well-designed and end-to-end operationalised project can be an additional distinguishing competitive edge for a client, yielding unexploited opportunities.

Fresh

Our projects are exciting, innovative, custom-fit, exhilarating and ignites participativeness.

Although we always start with a blank slate, we recognise Respice, Adspice, Prospice - examine the past, examine the present, examine the future.

______________________________

Across all jurisdictions, the number of regulatory changes required to be reviewed and assessed for application and response, can easily amount to a double-digit figure.

A Regulatory Change Analytical Tool, with integrated data points*, was designed based on a multi-jurisdictional client's request for a prototype design. Part of the design was the sourcing of reputable data sets to ensure information consistency and data quality.

* (date stamp, jurisdiction, impacted business area, cryptic change details, external exposure assessment rating, control adequacy rating, control framework alignment indicator, remedial/ planned actions, etc.)

______________________

A license to operate is critical for commercial continuity.

Tracking and overseeing permission across all jurisdictions was the basis for the design of a Permission (permit, license or authorisation) Dashboard. Additional requirements included -

  • the concentration of all statuses, renewals, conditions precedent, compliance with the different permission, and
  • a data governance protocol, to focus all stakeholders and create a unified port of call for analysis, oversight and decentralised & centralised reporting.

Industry: Mining | Manufacturing

___________________________________________

Centralised oversight of policies and revision activities across a client's operating entities and subsidiaries, especially as it relates to Group, Region and Country policies, created the need for an intelligent workspace.

A defined and centralised Gateway was designed and engineered, for the workspace requirement and denoted key coverage areas*. In addition, a Virtual Policy Notice Board was incorporated to further enhance policy ownership participation and policy application and scope alertness in the workforce.

Revision tracking and oversight was enabled via the development of a Policy Oversight Dashboard.

* Policy Ownership, mapping the client's policy landscape, an aggregate Group Policy Register, and a Policy Register page, with applicable policies, accessible per business area, a metadata-based policy record designed for analysis, tracking and reporting.

___________________________________________

Third Party Due Diligence is more than screening.

A client required a review of its current screening coverage. Following the outcome, a Due Diligence Model was designed. Its construct amplified the different risk considerations* and classfied the risk approach and descriptors. Based on the latter, the Governance Framework, Due Diligence Platform (screening dataset), Risk Identification and Analysis, and Risk Tolerance and Decision-making contexts were contextualised. Agreed solutions** have accordingly been designed to align with current tender review, onboarding and contract management business processes.

* Risk strata, Business and Commercial Risk Assessment, Ultimate Ownership, Jurisdiction, Entity Type, and personalised risk considerations.

** Due Diligence Governance Framework & Position Statement, Risk Calculator based on weighted average allocations, Risk Response & Treatment Matrix and a monthly Reporting Metric for oversight and risk tracking.
